exporter best practices for 150 gitlab projects

We have 150 project in gitlab.
We want to gather all metrics jobs, pipeline, deployment, environments
When we enable all metrics and wildcards to track all project, we are facing performans issues.
exporter pod is running but metrics is not updating

We can run multiple exporters. What is the best practices ? How many projects should I add for a single exporter ?
