Should Consent-O-Matic (automated GDPR cookie declining extension) be included as a recommended extension?

I think that you should add the Consent-O-Matic browser extension to your list of recommended extensions with whatever caveats are necessary.

Here is why:

• GDPR mandated cookie menus are ubiquitous.
• Consent-O-Matic is developed by the School of Communication and Culture at Aarhus University of Denmark. So, has academic oriented developers with an interest in the public good — like all of you!
• Academic oriented folk usually don't know about privacy communities online. Drawing attention to their extension may draw people to its development helping to cover more consent forms. Similarly, the attention from Privacy Guides might draw the attention of academic oriented folk to your project giving insight that we would otherwise overlook.
• The extension works for Firefox, Chromium, and Safari for desktop but only Safari (so far of course) on mobile.

This can be achieved by using uBlock Origin and configuring your browser to clear cookies on exit.

You should check how Cookie-o-matic actually work.
It actually automate opting-out instead of just hiding the cookie banner, to prevent breakage and cotinious attempt to track you until given consent or not.

You are actually calling, to just accept advertising and telemetry cookies. Including third-party ones. While those won't be called in other website with proper site isolation, everything collected will, such as internet information and browser fingerprint. Your case only works when you actively use the Tor Browser. Is that so ?

site isolation as is present in firefox and brave will prevent cookies from being loaded on other websites. Fingerprinting is an entirely different problem. This besides that hiding cookie banners does not opt you in. Websites that assume you opt in are in violation of GDPR and will probably not follow your choices anyway when it comes to fingerprinting.
